Mostly, this blog is about our new daughter, Lillian Grace Godbold or as we call her, Lily. She is our angel.

Endymion Parade

Endymion was better for her. It was earlier in the day and we had a nice spot on Orleans Ave--- Thanks to Dominic camping out. Here she is chatting it up with cousin Bradley. Isn't he cute? He is as big as Lily who is 3 months older.
Cousin Sarah kicked back waiting on the floats. The kids (and grownups) had so much fun. Thanks Uncle Dom!

This was during the end of the parade when it was a little cooler. Daddy had his hands full trying to keep her safe from getting hit with beads.

With cousin Bradley an Grandmare
Sarah and Uncle Dominic on the ladder. She and her friend did well in their tutus.

Happy Mardi Gas!

This was the only part of the parade we got a pic of. The Budweiser wagon and the Clydesdales.

Lily enjoyed meeting the police horses. I think she thought it was a big Louie.

We had a great spot at the barricades but it got way to crowded and dangerous for a baby. The chairs were more comfy anyway.

With uncle Phil.

It was a great time. I think next year will be much more fun. A of now, Lily and I are getting over colds. I will try and post a pic from Mardi gras day in the Marigny but it was on Daddy's phone and I may not be able to pull it up. It was a fun morning. The costumes were amazing.

Friday night parade

Well, Mardi Gras sure was different this year. We were not concerned about floats or throws at all but worried about our little one. I cannot even remember which parade this was but we were uptown and she was happy for about the first 30 min, and then got tired and fussy. We walked back and went to Cannon's for dinner, after wich she perked up right away. As you can see from her afterward shot at home in our bed, she was happy as can be.

Barkus parade

Barkus Parade 2009. This was actually Lily's second Mardi Gras parade but I forgot my camera at Little Rascal's. We took Louie and it was tough. He wanted to smell and stop everywhere. I was reading last night how important the socialization phase is to Lab's up to 12 weeks. You are supposed to expose them to all kinds of stuff. I think he was exposed to everything o the list in one trip to the French Quarter. Isn't this little hot dog cute?

So many of the people walking in the parade with their dogs stopped to take a picture of our little girl. She was hamming it up for the camera.

There is Louie, eating one of his many treats that were thrown to him by the dogs on parade.

This little one was out. I wish we had a wagon for Lily, Maybe next year she will be old enough. I doubt Louie would ride along side her though.

A salute to the Oscar-worthy movie

"Throw me something Mister"

The theme was "Batmutt". How stunning is this joker?

Louie met his twin. He wanted to play with everyone he met. He especially liked his fellow labs.

How cute is this Tin Man. I think we are due for a Wizard of Oz theme.

I could not get a good shot of the doge but the humans looked dressed for the part.

For those who are not familiar, Barkus is a canine parade with a different theme every year. These costumes cannot begin to describe the hilarity and creativeness of the owners. We had a blast. Cannot wait for super weekend.

Mommy's Valentine's day suprise

Kerry surprised me for Valentine's day with a new puppy, a rescue dog we adopted from Magazine Street Animal Hospital. He is an 11 week old yellow lab, brought here from Nicaragua. We think we will call him "Louie" but that could change. Lily loves him.

Buck and Bell are standing guard over their owners. They are not crazy about their new "brother". They are kind of hard to see but they are on the post on either side of the gate.

A cautious Buck watches Louie play.

Lily is so happy to be outside watching the puppy play

Belle runs away

Louie and his chew toy. We brought "pet Smart" a lot of business today

He already knows how to fetch!

Cute family photo. He is a wild puppy at times but so gentle with her.

Happy Valentine's Day!

This is for my grandparents I did not get to see today!

Daddy got mommy some pretty flowers and also a huge suprise...(see next post)
